When you’ve been in any situation, how often have you thought, “I know exactly what (pick somebody) would do?” How well do we know each other? Through the first roughly one-third of this gospel, we’ve seen Jesus in a variety of situations. People have watched Him, challenged Him, and followed Him. Of all those people, who, or how many, have actually known Him?
Chapter six opens with Jesus being rejected. It ends with everyone who touches Jesus being healed. What happens in the middle?
“Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed, for they still didn’t understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in.” (Mark 6:51-52 NLT)
Lord, hear our prayers today. Soften our hearts. Help us understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Deepen our desire to know You, to be known by You, and prepare the hearts of others as we share Your Love. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
